Inexpensive Drugstore Skincare Routine

Forget spending hundreds on your daily skincare!

You can easily get sucked into spending hundreds of dollars on your skincare with brands such as Estee Lauder and Clinique. Don’t get me wrong, these brands are very good quality and great for your skin, but if you don’t want to pay the high price, there are tons of options that won’t downgrade on quality.

The alternative is…yes, drugstore products. You may at first think that these products might cause more damage to your skin or just not do anything at all. While this might be true in some cases, if you know what to look for there’s no issue at all.

Do some research

Look on YouTube, Pinterest, or your browser and search what products would be best for your skin type and age. If you have acne issues, like I do, search for the best acne treatment options. If you have oily skin, make sure the products are oil-free. If you have dry skin, moisturizer is a must. Spend some time doing this and be patient. You don’t want to rush into something that you’re unfamiliar with.

My Skincare Routine

My skincare routine is pretty simple, just am and pm daily. However, it is very inexpensive and works for me.

Equate Oil-Free acne wash

I use this first in the morning and night. It says on the bottle “compare with Neutrogena…” and since Neutrogena is a good brand that works well with my skin, I thought I’d go with this one because you can get it at Walmart for only $3.67.

Neutrogena All-in-1 Acne Control daily scrub

I use this scrub after the acne wash, but only at night because it is a harsher wash so I do not want it to damage my skin, but also because it gives it time to exfoliate overnight. I was able to buy this at Walmart for $7.47.

Neutrogena oil-free Acne Stress Control Triple-Action Toner

I use this toner next either after the acne wash or the scrub morning and night. I’ve been using this product the longest for the last two years and have avoided many horrible break-outs. I buy this at Target for $6.99.

Pond’s Dry Skin Cream Facial Moisturizer

I use this next after the toner because the toner tends to dry your face out a little because of the acid in it to treat acne. I use this morning and night daily. Moisturizer is very important, especially if you tend to have drier skin. Moisturizer is great for under your makeup because it prevents your makeup from flaking as much. Plus, Pond’s is a great brand and a great price of only $4.97 at Walmart.

100% Aloe Vera Gel

And last but not least, Aloe Vera. I use this only at night so it has more time to do it’s job. I put this only on my acne and it works very well. I saw this idea on Pinterest and once I tried it out, I was hooked. This is the most expensive product, at $15.99 at Walmart but for the quantity, the time it lasts, and the job it does, it is money well spent.

That is all I have for you today, as far as skincare goes. Don’t rely on only this post for your research, others may have better advice and more knowledge that works better for you, so look at multiple sites. I hope this was helpful.
